If you don’t have the funds to get started with an airbrush system and don’t have the ability to do brush face painting but still want to work at festivals, this class is for you. THE GOSPEL IN GREASEPAINT

How to build a show around a concept in the Word of God… and still be FUNNY!!   Rick and Monica take this seriously.   The goal of this class is to equip ourselves with excellence in skills and performance that will provide the audience with a “WOW” that carries both the message of God, and clowning!

 

BASIC JUGGLING

What goes up, must come down, and it’s a lot of fun too!  Rick Chaney is a gifted and patient teacher who promises that he can teach ANYONE to juggle in just ten minutes!!  Dress comfortably and come join us. TRADITIONAL CLOWN MAKE-UP CLASS

Rick’s heritage as the ‘son of Mister Clown, Earl Chaney’ plays a role in everything he teaches. Together with his wife Monica, they discuss the roots of make-up, the different types and will do a class demonstration of application steps for building your clown’s character and bringing giggles, smiles and laughter to the world. No supplies necessary, however if you have a make- up kit and wish to bring it, that would be helpful.  When you’re smiling…the whole world smiles with you!

GOSPEL AIRBRUSH ART

Learn how to Airbrush Gospel Canvas Paintings before an audience.  This lecture will include introduction to basic Airbrush knowledge and skills as well as hands-on workshop.  Airbrush is a very unique medium in which the artist never touches the canvas, but its beauty is sure to touch the heart.

GOSPEL CLOWNING - BACK TO BASICS

WARNING this could get preachy!!! If gospel clowning is new to you or if you are experienced in gospel clowning this class will have something for you. We will talk about what we could be doing vs. what we get asked to do. Church Staff members and Pastors unfamiliar with gospel clowning are encouraged to attend.

 

WHY MAKEUP?

Ever wonder why clowns wear makeup? We will discuss clown history and makeup design. We will talk about the practical side of different styles and why the work better in different settings.  This is a class to help you consider many facts before choosing a makeup that’s right for you. This is NOT a class on how to apply makeup.

 

HOW TO STRETCH YOUR CLOWN DOLLARS.

Is the budget tight for clown supplies? How can we afford to perform our best? Costumes, magic tricks, walk arounds, we will discuss all that and more. I will bring my ideas if you will bring yours for this discussion type class.

 

BALLOON LINE COMBAT TACTICS

Lines can be brutal. Nobody likes to stand in a long, slow, and boring line. So forget the post office and come to this class. Here we will look at practical ideas get that line moving and send everyone on their way with a smile… and a balloon. Learn how to survive to twist another day.

This session emphasizes how to witness and share the Gospel using simple illusion effects. The session covers how to use close-up effects for personal witnessing as well as how to use illusion effects in large group settings. Additionally, the course includes simple guidelines that will help you share your faith.

 

MAGIC IN YOUR POCKETS

Let’s take a look at easy tricks that you can carry in your pockets to entertain crowds wherever you go. Whether you are working in the classroom, at the fair doing “walkaround” or entertaining people while they wait in line for something, these effects will come in handy. Learn some of these and you will be a favorite at the next Easter Egg Hunt, Block Party, or Fall Festival.

 

CAPTIVATING MAGIC

What is it that magicians have that makes them so attractive? (besides good looks). Is it the mysterious apparatus, the funny stories, or the flashy effects? The answer is: all of the above. We will discuss why magic is often better when you tell a story rather than just showing people a trick. We will also talk about how to engage the audience by using a volunteer. All of this while, taking a look at some beautiful but simple effects that you can do… if you come to this class.

IMPROV SKILLS FOR PERFORMERS

Put on your funny thinking hat (and your tacky socks) Group activities to help you think “on your feet” This is an up-and-moving, interactive class to get your brain juices flowing! We will talk about the basics of improvisation and we will do some fun exercises where you get to participate. Supplies needed:  A positive outlook, willingness to get a little silly, and be open to having fun and making friends!

 

WORKING ON STAGE PRESENCE WITH IMPROV

Anyone performing in front of a crowd wants to make sure they have the audience’s attention, especially if you have a message as important as the gospel. We will use fun Improv games an exercises that you can use to let the fun part of you come out and play. We will talk about

how to grab your audience’s attention and keep it. Tips on playing it big when doing stage performances; from movements to expressions, to speaking.

FACE PAINTING FOUNDATIONS PART 1 (Beginners)

Not just for the newbie but for anyone looking to enhance their designs using basic techniques! In this class we will focus on all the Basics of face painting, this will help make sure as you progress as an artist you will never stay as a stagnant artist but continue to grow as long as you implement the techniques. WE will learn about product - what type of product is appropriate for the type of designs you are doing and what are the best ways to use them. Line techniques; lines are so important, and they need to be perfected as a beginner and not as you grow as an artist. Sponging; we will learn the proper way to blend, and build color without using a cake. We will take a look at 2-4 designs that are basic, but will use advanced techniques to make them more elaborate.

 

FACE PAINTING FOUNDATIONS PART 2 (Beginners - Intermediate)

You may be a new artist, but it won’t show with these awesome tips and tricks! In this more advanced face painting class we will learn about focal points, dry blending, fixing mistakes with your lines, stencils, background colors. We will feature 2-3 great designs that will wow your audience every time! You may have been painting a couple months to a couple of years and are not happy where you are as an artist. But don’t let that stop you! Let's play with some basic techniques to bring you to the next level overnight. Some of us just need to incorporate some basic techniques to change the way we do things. This class will help your designs come to life, make basic designs more elaborate and will help you become more creative! Attend and you won’t regret it!

 

FANCY SCHMANCY GIRL DESIGNS

Fancy Faces? That's what Veronica is about. Let’s face it, girls are crazy about getting their face painted. (no pun intended) We're going to take a look at those techniques that are pro-like to help make beautiful (and girly) designs. This class will incorporate lots of glitter, swirls and curls... and all the schmansy stuff for girls. This is an intermediate to advanced class.

 

CATS!

Felines have always been popular, and we think they may be on high demand after a certain movie coming out in December. Whether you're painting a kitty or a tiger, we'll take a look at the basics principles of painting a purrrfect cat face. Veronica will share the tricks of the trade on how to make those cat faces look spectacular. You will have some happy customers saying meow in no time!
